Worship Services

Worship Service

Sunday Service

Our normal Sunday worship service starts at 11am, normally in our Bennochy building. Note that some services are also held at our other buildings and this will be stated when applicable.

All visitors are made welcome and everyone is provided with an Order of Service / Intimations sheet at the door. The words to the hymns are displayed on the large screen and bibles are provided in the pews. The date of the next Worship Service is shown on our Home page and there is a link to the Order of Service as an electronic document which you can print if required. Other events can be found in our Calendar.

Online Services

Some services are streamed live where facilities exist. Visit our Live Video page on Sunday mornings when a livestream is scheduled.

You can also watch previous services on our Videos page or directly on our YouTube Channel.

Both Facebook and YouTube provide subtitles on the videos.

Offering

The offering plate can be found at the start of the middle aisle to allow members and visitors to place their offering prior to commencement of the service. The offering plate will be taken by one of the Welcome Team and placed on the Communion table during the first hymn where it will be dedicated by whoever is leading worship on that day.

If you prefer, you can set up a standing order with your bank to send the offering regularly. Click the button below for the account details.

Communion

Formal communion is observed three times a year with informal communion being held after the monring service on various dates during the year. Both are indicated where applicable in the Calendar.

Flowers in the Church

If our Flower Ministry is of interest to you, either to arrange flowers on a Sunday, or simply to supply them on a particular date, please contact Ruth Fraser on 01592266451 or via email at ruthfraser330@gmail.com.

Joining the Church

We have a number of people who come regularly to Church but are not members. Perhaps Church membership is something you don’t wish to commit to at the moment so why not consider being an Adherent which means “a person who regularly attends the Church and participates in programs of the Church but who has not become an Active Member”? An Adherent will receive the same communications as regular members and also be eligible to vote on important congregational matters (new Minister for example). If this is something you are interested in please speak to one of our Welcoming Team or the Session Clerk.

Baptism

Your child can be baptised at Langtoun Central Church. The baptism is performed as part of the Sunday service with entry to the Cradle Roll of the Church and full support of a caring community. There are reserved seating for relatives and guests.

To assist you in preparing for a baptism we have prepared a Baptism Leaflet with useful information.

Sunday School

For children, the Sunday School is available each week during school terms. Youngsters (aged 3 to 12+) take part in first part of the main service, followed by their own activities in an adjacent room.

Crèche

A crèche is available for ages 0 to 3, with our skilled team of child minders. Activity sheets and crayons for children are also available at all services. Please enquire to members of the Welcome team at the door.

Lap Blankets

Lap blankets are available in the vestibule for anyone who would benefit from extra warmth whilst in the Church.

Transport & Parking

At our Bennochy building, car parking is available in Elgin Street and Katherine Street. Please respect residents access.

Parking is also permitted in the car park of Rexel Electrical in Katherine Street, by kind permission of the company, in the evenings and at weekends. Please do not park in front of the delivery doors.

Special Needs

The following facilities are available at our Bennochy building:

  • Ramp to the side door (with doorbell) via level path from the Meldrum Road gate
  • Dedicated area in the Church for wheelchairs
  • Accessible toilet
  • Sound system with loop for hard of hearing

Refreshments

After the service, tea/coffee and biscuits are provided in the Church hall.

Weddings

Why not hold your Wedding Service at Langtoun Central Church. Please contact us for details.

Hospital & Pastoral Visits

If you would like someone from the Church to visit a member of the congregation in hospital (or at home), please get in touch via the contact page. Hospitals no longer provide Churches with lists of admissions so please let us know when a visit would be of assistance. Alternatively, please contact Rev Eileen Miller by phone on 07795135780 or email emiller@churchofscotland.org.uk.
